Housing Preservation Grant Northwest Michigan Community Action Agency is happy to announce that it has received a Housing Preservation Grant through USDA Rural Development. This grant is to be used to do home repairs for income eligible homeowners in Emmet, Grand Traverse, Leelanu, Roscommon, and Wexford Counties, in conjunction with other housing repair funding sources. Financing Alternatives DEFERRED LOAN This loan has a 0% interest rate and is not paid back until the last borrowing homeowner dies, moves permanently out of the home, or transfers the title of the home. Repayment of the loan is usually done through the sale of the home. In some cases, where the home is passed down to an income eligible heir, the loan may continue to be deferred.
