SSVF grants are awarded to select private non-profit organizations to assists low-income Veteran families residing in or transitioning to permanent housing by providing a wide range of supportive services to eligible Veteran families that are designed to promote housing stability.

As an SSVF grantee, NMCAA's Homeless Prevention department provides SSVF programs and services across a 23-county region1 in Northwest Michigan that include: (I) Coordinated Entry; (II) Rapid Resolution/Housing Crisis Response; (III) Street Outreach; (IV) Case Management; (V) Housing Resources and Healthcare Navigation; (VI) Connection to VA and public benefits, programs, and mainstream community resources; and (VII) Temporary Financial Assistance (TFA) through Rapid Re-Housing and Homeless Prevention Assistance programs.

The purpose of these programs and services is to assist eligible Veterans and their families in maintaining or acquiring safe, affordable housing, becoming integrated socially and economically into their communities, and accessing the necessary services and supports available to them.
