Green Committee
NMCAA formed a Green Committee in December 2013. The group is focused on creating a more sustainable work environment for employees and programming by improving the following areas:
- Energy Efficiency & Renewable Energy
- Water Use, Air Quality, and Landscaping
- Sustainable Materials and Products
- Waste & Recycling
- Transportation
- Staff Awareness & Training
It is the Green Committee’s goal to receive the Neighborworks® Green Organization Designation. This designation would provide the following benefits for NMCAA:
Stature and Recognition: Green designees will receive a certificate of designation as well as an award letter from NeighborWorks
Branding: Green designees will have rights to use a new branding scheme created for the initiative that will identify their organization as a designee.
Financial Assistance: NeighborWorks
Marketing and Resource Development: NeighborWorks
Green Organization Marketing and Communications Toolkit: NeighborWorks will develop a set of templates and other tools that designees may use to help share the news about their green activities with residents, funders, partners and other stakeholders.
